Canal de Izas

Area: Aragon Valey (Aragón) Spain
Acces: From Jaca to Canfrac station N330 road. After Canfranc Estación (100m ) turn rigth and cross a bridge on Aragón river. (Take Out)Thats the place to first water level scout. Continue the ovious trail until "Col te Ladrones" on the left side of the road.

Put In: Continue the trail until the turns to path. 100m foward you will find a small damm. Put in river rigth.
Take out: The bridge on Aragón river
Distance: 2 km
Time: 3-4h

Gradient:
Best volume: 3 m3/s class V

Check levels in internet:  No possible, Snow melt o rain. I live in Jaca and I know how is it, so,  the best, call me and paddle together (695 559 272 Mino)

5m drop, easy after slides. Mino

The begining of the gorge, bed-rock, slides and small drpops. Asier.

Take care: Very narrow gorge, but alwais runable, never seen trees but interesting to scout before.

Description:

 

1st drop on after joyned Aragón river Kayaker: Mino

Fist 500 m roky river, some boulders on the way some sharp roks, with low water 2 m3/s no portages but some narrow pasages. After this the river becames sweet flowing on bed-rok with some small drops and slides with small stops but complitly runable. 500m in one rapid!!!! Not easy scouting...

After we join the Aragón valey and quikly, appears the firs drop 6m. There´s a big boulder in the middle of the river, rigth allways best,  boofing to the left. scout river ritgh.

After 400m we find the 9 m last drop. easy scout fom river left, after 200m we find 2 bridges, the second one is the take out.
